DFEE Supporters Raise Funds for Education in Dalton Golf Tournament

The Durango Foundation for Educational Excellence 16th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held on May 15, 2009 at Dalton Ranch. This scramble tournament is dedicated to the late Tom Hartney for his contribution to education. Tournament funds are used to support educational and incentive programs for students and teachers in Durango School District 9-R that fall outside the scope of the 9-R budget. Thanks to all who make this event a great success!

This tournament has grown year after year and is one of the foundation’s biggest fundraisers. Typically we have 20-25 teams participating with over 75 sponsors. Sponsorships range from Title sponsors between $3000 and $5000, A+ Sponsors for $1000 and Hole Sponsors for $200.

Our sponsorship signs are unique. We have a 3rd grade class at Park Elementary School make and decorate the signs. It is great to include the kids in this project, as they learn about the foundation and non-profits as well as the businesses in Durango!!!!! We had over 45 hole sponsors in 2009.
