DFEE Supporters Raise Funds for Education in Dalton Golf Tournament
The Durango Foundation for Educational Excellence 15th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held on May 16, 2008 at Dalton Ranch. This scramble tournament is dedicated to the late Tom Hartney for his contribution to education. Tournament funds are used to support educational and incentive programs for students and teachers in Durango School District 9-R that fall outside the scope of the 9-R budget. Thanks to all who make this event a great success!
This tournament has grown year after year and is one of the foundation’s biggest fundraisers. Typically we have 20-25 teams participating with over 75 sponsors. Sponsorships range from Title Sponsors giving between $3000 and $5000. Our A+ Sponsors donate $1000 a piece and our Hole Sponsors donate $200 each.
2008 Title sponsors: Classique Custom Homes and Pat Murphy Motors
A + Sponsors: Coca Cola, Nichols Electric & FCI Constructors, Inc.
and 71 individual hole sponsors.
Our sponsorship signs are unique. We have a 3rd grade class at Park Elementary School make and decorate the signs. It is great to include the kids in this project because it helps them learn about the Durango Foundation For Educational Excellence and about other non-profit organizations and businesses in Durango.
What a great way to have fun and donate to our foundation!
The next tournament date is set for: May 15, 2009 at Dalton Ranch.
